Started off at Hove 11am hoping for cross-shore winds and decent waves. Wind dropped just before I went out. One slightly underpowered short run out and back and the b*st*rd Hove rip had already taken me 2 groynes downwind. Since no-one else was out thought I'd better play it safe and head to Shoreham.

Wish I hadn't. 5.2 then 4.5 then eventually 4.0 all over-frickin-powered. It was probably a touch less windy at Hove and having just read gm's report 4.0 would have been fine there. A very frustrating day...a cracking forecast but turned out being way windier than expected, which for today was NOT good. Grrrr. :(
